Before play begins
Curiosity first. Safety always.
Supervise play, inspect toys and household materials regularly, and let your cat decide whether to join in. Put string and wand toys away afterwards, keep hands and feet out of hunting games, and use food from your cat’s normal daily allowance.
Stop if your cat seems tired, worried or uncomfortable. A sudden change in their willingness to play is worth discussing with your vet.
